Officially, Samsung has not released a follow-up to the Galaxy A80, an unusual smartphone with a motorised camera housing. While the company was expected to reveal the Galaxy A82 in 2020, the device came to market as the Quantum 2 instead, and only in South Korea.
According to LetsGoDigital, Samsung plans to release a Galaxy A83 in early 2022. It is worth bearing in mind that the device may not make it to Europe or North America though, as was the case with the Quantum 2. Nonetheless, LetsGoDigital expects Samsung to market the device as the Galaxy A83. In all likelihood, Samsung will release it in South Korea as the Quantum 3.
Supposedly, the Galaxy A83 has a 120 Hz and AMOLED display, along with four cameras. As the website's concept renders show, it believes that the Galaxy A83 has a single hole-punch front-facing camera coupled with three rear-facing cameras. The latter will be protected by separate camera housings too, much like next year's Galaxy S22 Ultra, also known as the Galaxy S22 Note.
LetsGoDigital also speculates that the Galaxy A83 will feature the ISOCELL GN5 that Samsung introduced in September. The 50 MP camera would replace a 64 MP one found in the Quantum 2. The Galaxy A83 is likely to arrive after the Galaxy S21 FE, which is due next month.
