The NEO 17 is a high-performance laptop designed for both work and play, offering a range of impressive features for gamers, creators, and power users. While it may look like a beast with its large 17-inch screen, it's surprisingly thin and portable for its size, though it does occupy a lot of desk space. With a 2560x1600 resolution display, the screen delivers vibrant colors and excellent brightness, thanks to factory calibration. This makes it ideal not only for gaming but also for creative tasks like photo and video editing, where color accuracy is crucial. One standout feature of the NEO 17 is its upgradability. The process of adding additional storage or memory is straightforward, thanks to the ample space inside the chassis. The option to add a second drive is an easy upgrade, requiring just a few minutes. For those looking to expand their system, NEO 17 provides a range of storage options, and the design includes mounting screws inside the chassis to secure additional components. When it comes to performance, the NEO 17 does not disappoint. Equipped with an RTX 4090 graphics card and a powerful CPU, it handles demanding games like Diablo IV and Starfield with ease, offering smooth gameplay even at high settings. However, during intense gaming sessions, the laptop’s keys do get warm, which is where the OASIS cooler comes into play. The cooler is easy to attach and remove, featuring water tubes and a power cable that can be quickly connected. The updated cooler design, which includes a quieter fan and pump system, significantly reduces noise while maintaining cooling efficiency. Users can also adjust the fan speed for more aggressive cooling if needed, though the default setting is nearly silent. Without the cooler, the NEO 17 can get fairly loud under load, making the OASIS a valuable addition for extended gaming sessions.
The trackpad on the NEO 17 is large, responsive, and surprisingly sensitive, making it easy to navigate the expansive screen. A useful feature allows you to disable the right side or the entire trackpad, preventing accidental touches while typing. This is a thoughtful inclusion for users who need to avoid trackpad interference during heavy typing tasks. In terms of connectivity, the NEO 17 excels with a wide array of ports and the ability to support VR gaming. I tested this by connecting a Rift S VR headset using a USB-C-to-DisplayPort adapter, and it worked flawlessly, with the RTX 4090 providing smooth performance in VR titles like Star Wars Squadrons. Overall, the NEO 17 proves to be a powerful, versatile laptop. It handles both gaming and productivity tasks with ease, thanks to its powerful hardware, customizable cooling, and wide connectivity options. Whether you're working, gaming, or creating, the NEO 17 offers exceptional performance in a sleek, portable design.

17.30": This display size is a standard format for desktop replacements (DTR). The DTR laptops are heavier to carry, need more power, but texts are easy to read and high resolutions are no problem. DTR are mainly intended for stationary desk use, where weight and energy hunger don't matter. In return, you enjoy the advantages of high resolutions (more details, better legibility).» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
2.8 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
93%: This rating is indeed excellent. There are not many models that are rated better. This can definitely be seen as a purchase recommendation.
