Reviews for the Razer Blade 18 2024 RZ09-0509
Razer has upped the ante even further this year with 300 Hz 2K mini-LED and 200 Hz 4K IPS display options on top of the already impressive 175 W GeForce RTX 4090 GPU. The HDR1000 mini-LED panel in particular makes the Blade 18 a multimedia behemoth when it comes to gaming and video playback.

The Razer Blade 18 is a giant gaming laptop with as much power as it has girth. While a laptop in the literal sense, this 18-incher is more for gamers who can afford a premium desktop alternative. You won’t want to lug it around, but if you need to go to a LAN party you’ll have a powerful laptop that handle any game.

The Blade 18 is a case of delivering exactly what’s expected and getting what you pay for. This signature sleek design is as luxe and thin as ever, and its components and price tag also mean top-end performance. That thinness also means a slightly lower power ceiling than meatier alternatives, but the gap is less than we’ve seen before and won’t make or break your experience. This is especially true given the real standout performer, MSI’s Titan 18 HX, is a far more expensive laptop. All told, if you have a big enough budget to be considering any of these powerhouses, and the Blade design appeals to you most, go for the Blade 18. Aside from the cost, our only caveat is the dismal battery life, which may not be relevant for many users in this category but could be a deal-breaker for you.

The Razer Blade 18 is hands down the most impressive gaming laptop I've ever used, and is the complete package in a way few products are. While other gaming laptops on the market may share many of the specific internal components as the Razer Blade 18, none share the harmony of design, performance, and beauty like the Blade 18. Whether you are looking for a dedicated gaming laptop, a battle station for both work and play, or an ultra high-performance device to run complex and intensive software, the Razer Blade 18 can do it all. There's no doubt that the Blade 18 costs a pretty penny, as even its base configuration costs more than a decent vacation, but if being on the cutting edge of mobile PC performance is important to you, and you have the money, then I would highly recommend the Razer Blade 18.

If you're someone who absolutely must have the best performance possible, then the Blade 18 might not tick that box when there are larger, thicker machines available, powered by similar hardware. Likewise, if you really just don't care about aesthetics, you could probably find a similar-performing laptop for a bit less money. It's not going to have a slick aluminum unibody, a Mini-LED screen, or Thunderbolt 5, though. Ultimately. we're awarding the Blade 18 our Recommended award. It's fast, functional, and super stylish. There's always an undeniable price premium for a Razer laptop, but if you're someone to whom this machine's unique qualities appeal, there's really no substitute.

Razer Blade 18 2024
The latest to join the marketplace is none other than the Razer Blade 18 (2024). If one has seen a Razer Blade laptop at any point in the last few years, then the Razer Blade 18 would not be a much surprise in terms of its design since it looks the same. Well, it is the same sand-blasted, anodized, matte black aluminum unibody (there's also a silver colourway) which one would expect from Razer, with laser-cut grilles, a per-key RGB-lit keyboard, a large glass touchpad, and Razer's iconic green accents. This is definitely an attractive laptop with build quality well above the average for big and beefy gaming laptops and is also more svelte than many 18-inch devices with similar levels of hardware. Having said that, this design has started to feel a little dated. The same sharp and uncomfortable edges had made a comeback, and the coating is not nearly as good at resisting smudges and fingerprints as Razer would have one to believe. However, it is an undoubtedly premium laptop with exceptional construction, and it packs all the hardware and features one expects from a laptop with such an exorbitant price tag.
As for its keyboard, it is the same Razer Chroma keyboard, which is a fine keyboard but is nothing extravagant (especially for a gaming laptop). On the other hand, it is worth mentioning that the excellent Microsoft Precision touchpad had made a return, dominating the lower half of the keyboard deck. In addition, the overall port selection and placement are largely the same, too. Apart from everything mentioned above, one of the biggest changes in the new Razer Blade 18 has to be the arrival of an Intel 14th Gen CPU. Well, with such processor, one should really expect a minor bump in overall performance. While it is not terribly exciting, Intel 14th Gen does open up some new possibilities for futureproofed connectivity as it includes support for Thunderbolt 5 and Wi-Fi 7. As for its display, gone is the average QHD+, 240Hz display which has been seen on many laptops. Now, the Razer Blade 18 boasts either a true 4K (2400p), 200Hz IPS LCD display for those that need resolution above all else, and a seriously impressively QHD+, 300Hz Mini LED panel with 1,000 nits peak brightness and over 2,000 local dimming zones for contrast levels approaching OLED screens. In a nutshell, the Razer Blade may very well be the most luxurious, premium, high-end gaming laptop in the world, and the Blade 18 is the largest, most powerful variant. This is because, unlike the portable Razer Blade 14 or balanced Razer Blade 16, the Blade 18 is designed to be a true desktop replacement with no compromises as its hardware is impressive, to say the least, and it is certainly not lacking in the power department. However, for current Blade 18 owners, though, there is not much reason to upgrade.

18.00": This display size is a standard format for desktop replacements (DTR). The DTR laptops are heavier to carry, need more power, but texts are easy to read and high resolutions are no problem. DTR are mainly intended for stationary desk use, where weight and energy hunger don't matter. In return, you enjoy the advantages of high resolutions (more details, better legibility).» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
3.134 kg:
A laptop with this weight is comparatively heavy and less designed for mobility than for use at the desk. Therefore, the devices tend to shine less with battery life than with a large screen and higher performance.
