Reviews for the Razer Blade 14 RZ09-0508
Razer is starting off the new year strong with a minor but solid refresh of its smallest Blade series. Most users will overlook the CPU AI enhancements, but the minor GPU changes help the 2024 Blade 14 pull out ahead of last year's model.

There are plenty of reasons to recommend the Razer Blade 14 (early 2024), from its fast performance, smooth graphics, impactful speakers, and bright display. However, it does fall short of the previous generation when it comes to displaying vivid color and lasting for a full day on battery. Both the 2023 and 2024 versions of the Blade 14 could get rather hot when gaming, making it imperative to use an external keyboard or mouse for lengthy game sessions. The Blade 14 starts at $2,199, and the configuration we tested retails for $2,699. While this is hardly expensive compared to the Razer Blade 16, which can easily be configured to cost over $4,000, it is on the pricey side for a gaming laptop with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU.

After a few weeks with the Razer Blade 14, I can certainly see the appeal. It’s portable and has a lot of horsepower, which is great if you need something that can do a lot and still not weigh your backpack down too much. It’s also a robust and trusted design, with a reasonable amount of IO. The only legitimate problem I have with it is the cost. And depending if you want an OLED screen or not, and maybe better speaker. But if you want the absolute most performance at this form factor and size, this is probably the best there is to offer at this time.

The Razer Blade 14 (2024) continues to impress as a gaming powerhouse in a remarkably compact form. It remains largely unchanged in design from its predecessor, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, considering it has long been my top pick for the best gaming laptop going, and this latest refresh makes a compelling case for keeping that title. Starting with its design, the familiar all-black CNC-milled aluminum chassis is both eye-catching and sturdy, with a weight that reinforces its premium build without sacrificing portability.

It’s clear the Razer Blade 18 (2024) is more than just a powerhouse; it’s a finely tuned instrument that excels in every area it promises to. For anyone serious about gaming or creative work, the Blade 18 offers a compelling blend of cutting-edge technology and thoughtful design. The 5MP webcam and THX spatial audio system greatly enriched my streaming and video conferencing experiences, delivering clear visuals and immersive sound. The comprehensive port selection and the latest Wi-Fi 7 connectivity allowed for a seamless and uninterrupted connection, which proved invaluable during both online gaming matches and while transferring large creative project files. Razer has not only raised the bar but has set a new benchmark for what we should expect from gaming laptops moving forward. This laptop isn’t just about power and performance; it’s about experiencing the future of gaming technology today.

The Razer Blade 14 is the perfect example of a 2024 laptop. Less design changes, more "AI", a Ryzen 8000 series CPU, competitors like the Zephyrus G14 catching up performance updates that go nowhere. But, since they were so far ahead, this still might mean the Razer Blade 14 is one of the best 14" gaming laptops on the planet....or....

Although it’s expensive, the Razer Blade 14 2024 has commendable performance and gorgeous fluid visuals for its size. For me, that’s what makes the Razer Blade 14 such a great option – I essentially see everything I would want in a laptop here. A solid robust frame, great performance, and amazing visuals and all in a compact portable unit. If you can afford one and are tempted, you should absolutely take the plunge.

Razer’s Blade laptop lineup (14", 16" and 18") shines bright with stunning screens at CES 2024. The Blade 16 is sporting the world’s first 16-inch 240Hz OLED display while the Blade 18 has a 4K 165Hz panel.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
