Reviews for the MSI Titan 18 HX A14VIG
MSI's biggest and fastest gaming laptop is back this year with an even larger screen size than before. The redesign aligns with Intel's latest Raptor Lake-HX refresh and is the first 18-inch MSI laptop ever since the old GT80 series from several years ago.

With an incredibly hefty price tag, the Titan 18 HX pushes laptop performance to its limits. This system is not meant for most buyers, or even those interested only in high-end gaming, but instead comes as close to a desktop experience as possible. The laptop's loads of memory and storage, giant 4K display, and superpowered performance deliver on that concept, if you have both the workflow needs and budget to justify this behemoth. In terms of peak performance and versatility, we can recommend the Titan 18 HX to that niche of users (or businesses) to whom cost is no object. If money matters, the Alienware m18 is a decent balance of price, design, and power among 18-inchers, while the Editors’ Choice-winning Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 is the best value among premium gaming laptops.

The MSI Titan 18 HX is a flagship laptop that delivers great build quality, an excellent keyboard, a fantastic 4K Mini-LED Display, and strong overall performance. It defeats other flagship laptops, like the Asus ROG Strix Scar, and slightly outperforms 2023’s Titan GT77 HX 13V in some, though not all, benchmarks. The new Titan 18 HX also doubles the RAM and solid state storage found in last year’s model at a similar price. There are a few downsides. It’s a large laptop with short battery life and, despite better performance, it’s arguably not as good value-for-money as the less expensive Asus ROG Strix Scar 18, which is $1,000 less but just a tad slower in our benchmarks. Still, I think most shoppers looking at a laptop in this price and weight class expect it to push the limits in performance, features, and quality at once. That’s exactly what the Titan 18 HX does.

If you’re looking for the best, you’re going to have to get over the price somehow. If you’re still here, then why should you choose the Titan over the other competitors? Well, it’s more powerful and it features a better display and a mechanical keyboard. However, if you’re looking for more battery life in a lighter and thinner product, try the Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 (2024). It’ll also save you over $1K. But if you really want to save money, go with the Alienware m16 R2. If you’re still set on the most powerful gaming laptop there is — it’s the MSI Titan 18 HX (2024).

This is the 2024 MSI Titan 18 HX. It has a lot of NEAT features and upgrades that make a lot of sense. In the past, the Titan had grat performance, but it was a clumsy tank. The 2024 redesign fixes all of those prior issues. if you make a purchase through the links provided, I will get a small commission but at no extra cost to you, but that is what keeps this channel alive and the helpful content coming your way.

The MSI TITAN 18 HX will be one of the world's fastest gaming laptops when it becomes available later this month and it has a few cleverly hidden surprises we haven't seen before. We also need to talk about what could be one of the best budget gaming laptops we've seen in the last few years: the Cyborg 14.

You won’t be disappointed by the power on offer here – it’s incredible. But how much will it cost? It’s sure to be rather pricey and with plenty of rivals it’ll be interesting to see if it can make the case that you should buy something cutting edge rather than looking just below the top-of-the-range.

18.00": This display size is a standard format for desktop replacements (DTR). The DTR laptops are heavier to carry, need more power, but texts are easy to read and high resolutions are no problem. DTR are mainly intended for stationary desk use, where weight and energy hunger don't matter. Only a few laptops are in this weight class because the mobility is rather limited due to the high weight.
