The RingConn Gen 2 and RingConn Gen 2 Air (from $199 on Amazon) are getting a successor that brings a wide range of improvements. As before, the new model features a waterproof titanium case, but it is now offered in five different colors, namely matte black, brushed silver, polished silver, royal gold and polished rose gold.
The ring is available in US ring sizes 6 to 15, so there should be a fitting version for most people. The most notable new health feature is the ability to warn users about high blood pressure, although it should be noted that this function is not based on a medical-grade blood pressure measurement. Instead, the RingConn uses data from the heart rate and SpO2 sensors, accelerometer and the skin temperature sensor in order to determine an elevated risk of high blood pressure. Therefore, the wearable takes a similar approach as the Circular Ring 2.
The second major addition is a vibration motor which can provide haptic feedback, for example when a fitness goal has been reached or when an unusual measurement is detected. RingConn also promises longer battery life than the previous generation, which was supposed to last ten to twelve days on a full charge. Unfortunately, the exact runtime numbers have not been mentioned thus far.
Price and availability
It’s unclear when the RingConn Gen 3 will launch and how much it will cost. Unlike Oura smart rings, the RingConn Gen 3 is not expected to require a paid subscription.
