RingConn Gen 2: Offensive against the Samsung Galaxy Ring starts at half price and comes with sleep apnea detection
First teased at the beginning of the month, the price of the RingConn Gen 2 smart ring has now been made public. As part of a Kickstarter campaign, the ring has a price tag of $299: interested parties can secure a considerable discount of $100 by making a deposit of $1 in order to reserve a unit. This is a very competitive price for a smart ring in view of the many functions. Customers can have the dollar refunded until August, which is when the crowdfunding campaign starts. According to the manufacturer, the RingConn Gen 2 will be delivered worldwide, with delivery scheduled for September.
Among the many features offered, the manufacturer advertises sleep apnoea detection, for example, which could be detected by measuring the oxygen saturation of the blood. Breathing interruptions during sleep should not be underestimated and can significantly increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. The device is reportedly compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
The ring is said to be more water resistant compared to other smart rings with a waterproof rating of up to 100 meters, while IP68 certification is also advertised. The battery life is now said to be up to 12 days, which in the best case scenario is almost double that of its predecessor. The weight is specified at 2 to 3 grams and the thickness at 2 millimeters.
