Asus upgrades its flagship compact gaming laptop ROG Zephyrus G14 for 2026 and now uses Intel's new Panther Lake mobile processor. The raw CPU performance of the Core Ultra 9 386H is not much better compared to the previous AMD chip from the 2025 G14, but you get noticeably longer battery runtimes.
The highlight is once again the dedicated GPU, because the Zephyrus G14 is still the only 14-inch laptop that can be equipped with the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti or even the RTX 5080. Asus added more cooling performance for 2025 model generation, but both GPUs are limited to a TGP of 115 Watts, so they are actually pretty close together while playing games. The difference to the smaller RTX 5070 with just 8 GB VRAM.
Combined with the new 120 Hz OLED panel, which finally offers an improved HDR brightness of more than 1,000 nits, the great sound system as well as the excellent input devices, the G14 is not only a very good gaming laptop. The fans stay very quiet in Silent mode for everyday tasks. If you use the full performance for gaming, however, the fans will be very loud.
The Zephyrus G14 is a very expensive laptop for an RRP of $3199 and the current memory crisis is very noticeable because the previous model was a lot more affordable for $2599. If you are ready to invest this amount of money, you will get one of the most versatile allrounder on the market.
