The new XMG Fusion 16 (M25) is a powerful mainstream gamer that shares many similarities with the familiar XMG Core 16. We already reviewed the new model and the Fusion 16 managed to score a very good rating (88 %). We already know the high-quality aluminum chassis from the Core 16 and it offers good stability, plenty of ports, good maintenance options as well as comfortable input devices.
Contrary to the Core 16 with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, the Fusion 16 is equipped with the much more powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX. However, the advantage in terms of gaming performance in combination with the 115W GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop is pretty small. The Intel SKU also supports a Thunderbolt 4 port.
The second new feature is the optional OLED screen for €130. XMG decided to use a panel from Samsung, which offers excellent image quality with its high resolution of 2880x1800 pixels as well as the refresh rate of 120 Hz. The glossy screen also covers the DCI-P3 color gamut and offers richer colors and generally a more vivid picture compared to regular IPS screens. The OLED is also a great choice for gaming thanks to very fast response times, only the maximum HDR brightness could be better.
