The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT and RX 7800 XT are now enjoying considerable discounts, as the former has now dropped to less than $630 while the latter has dropped below $500. The price cuts are a welcome addition since the RX 7900 XT and the RX 7800 XT are capable 4K/QHD and QHD/FHD cards respectively.

If you were holding out for big potential GPU discounts close to or on Black Friday, now might be the right time to pull the trigger, as several cards are currently on sale. These sales include the high-end RX 7900 XT and the mid-range RX 7800 XT both of which are now retailing for considerably less than their MSRPs.

RX 7900 XT price is now at a record-low level

The XFX Speedster MERC310 RX 7900 XT is now on sale for only $619.99 on Newegg. This $50 discount brings the RX 7900 XT to its lowest price ever. Considering the performance of the RX 7900 XT, $619.99 seems like a pretty decent price for the card.

For instance, the RX 7900 XT performs similarly or better than the RTX 4070 Ti Super, a GPU that is currently on sale for $740 on Newegg. This makes the RX 7900 XT not only faster with 4 GB more VRAM but also $120 cheaper, enough cash to buy a fast 2 TB Gen 4 SSD like the Samsung 990 Pro.

RX 7800 XT price is effectively at the lowest ever

Like the RX 7900 XT, the RX 7800 XT is also currently enjoying a measurable discount. You can now buy the Sapphire Pulse RX 7800 XT for only $469.99. According to camelcamelcamel, the $469.99 price is only $0.02 behind the all-time low of $469.97.

Per our testing, the RX 7800 XT is most suitable for QHD/FHD gaming with high to ultra settings. The board can play AAA titles like Ghost of Tsushima and Dragon’s Dogma 2 at QHD resolution with ultra settings at above 60 FPS.

Nvidia RTX 4070 and above GPUs may soon go out of stock

Aside from the current price drops, another possible reason to get the RX 7900 XT and the RX 7800 XT right now is that Nvidia is reportedly discontinuing cards like the RTX 4070 and above in the next couple of months. The move, which is seemingly to prepare for the launch of the RTX 50 GPUs in 2025, will result in stock shortages of cards like the RTX 4070 Super and the RTX 4070 Ti Super. The inadequate supply will inevitably result in higher prices of not only the RTX 40 GPUs but also competing cards like the RX 7900 XT and the RX 7800 XT, as buyers who can’t buy the RTX 40 series will turn to Radeon offerings. This, in turn, will push up the prices of the RDNA 3 cards, making them more expensive.

In other words, now might be a perfect time to buy a mid-range/high-end GPU if you were waiting for price drops.
