Anbernic is expected to release a new member of the RG477 series later this month. To that end, the company has now shared an extended unboxing video showcasing the RG477V that stretches to almost 16 minutes long. Released a few hours ago, Anbernic usually posts videos of this kind just days before a device's official launch.
Thus, we suspect that RG477V pre-orders could go live before Christmas. In the meantime, Anbernic has confirmed that the RG477V will be available in Black and Retro Gray colour options and 8 GB RAM/128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage configurations. Moreover, the company has finally outlined that the RG477V measures 153 x 106 x 23 mm or 15 mm at its thinnest point.
In other words, the RG477V is slightly larger than the similar RG406V (curr. $195.99 on Amazon) but with a display that spans 0.7-inches longer diagonally. Outputting at 960p, the 4.7-inch display also delivers a 120 Hz refresh rate and up to 500 nits peak brightness just like the RG477M before it. Other new details confirmed include a pair of bottom firing speakers flanking a 3.5 mm jack and a run-through of how the device's Android 14 build works. Please see the video below for more details.
