POCO X6 Pro 5G revealed to be arriving globally with Xiaomi HyperOS, 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage
New details about the successor to the POCO X5 Pro 5G (curr $299.50 on Amazon) have surfaced online. To recap, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) in Thailand certified the POCO X6 Pro 5G at the end of last month. While the NBTC did not reveal too many device specifics, it linked the smartphone to '2311DRK48G', which matches the root of the Redmi K70E's model number 2311DRK48.
Now, the 2311DRK48G has passed through the Federal Communication Commission (FCC), albeit without reference to its POCO X6 Pro 5G marketing name. As always, the FCC has refrained from publishing device photos or manuals. However, it has shed light on a few previously unknown elements. On the one hand, Xiaomi will ship the POCO X6 Pro 5G with MDY-15-ET and MDY-15-EU power adapters in the EU and UK, respectively.
Thus, the handset may be limited to 67 W wired charging, a 23 W and 25% decrease on the 90 W afforded to the Redmi K70E. On the other hand, the FCC mentions two memory configurations, one of which the POCO X6 Pro 5G shares with the Redmi K70E. Specifically, the FCC states that the former starts with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, an option unavailable to the Redmi K70E.
Meanwhile, the second option comes with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, meaning that the POCO X6 Pro 5G misses out on the Redmi K70E's 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage option. Finally, the regulatory body reports that 2311DRK48G runs Xiaomi HyperOS 1.0, the first confirmation that HyperOS will replace MIUI globally. Although the FCC has not outlined any other specifications as far as we can tell, please see our Redmi K70E launch article for what to expect from the POCO X6 Pro 5G in other areas.
