Over 100,000 fans join hands to demand Days Gone 2 from Sony
Zombie media are a dime a dozen but Bend Studio somehow managed to make something rather interesting with its 2019 PlayStation 4 title, Days Gone. Sony isn't keen on a sequel to that game, though, and fans are far from pleased.
After reports from a few weeks ago heavily hinted at Sony having no plans for Days Gone sequel, fans of the game have come out en masse to persuade the company otherwise—via an online petition. North of a hundred thousand Days Gone fans have now signed a petition asking Sony to approve the production of Days Gone 2.
"There’s millions of people who want Sony PlayStation to approve Days Gone 2", the petition reads. "And I want all the fans to sign this petition. They can’t just pull the plug on such an amazing game that ended with a cliff hanger." At the moment, said petition has a bit over 106,000 signatures, with a target of 150,000.
While Days Gone wasn't without its faults, the game delivered plenty of heart, an interesting horde mechanic, and fine gunplay. It launched as a rather buggy mess, though, so reviews leaned towards lackluster for the most part. Still, Days Gone has a rather dedicated following—as evidenced by this petition—and a sequel would be unlikely to tank. The question of the necessity of a sequel, story-wise, is an entirely different matter, however.
