Days Gone might not get a sequel anytime soon (or ever). But, at today's State of Play, we got the next best thing: a remaster. Those who bought the game on PlayStation and PC can upgrade to the new version for just $10. Otherwise, you'll need to pay $49.99. It will be playable on April 25, 2025 across all platforms.
Days Gone Remastered, like many that came before it, adds several PS5-specific features to the game, such as the full suite of DualSense features, 3D Spatial Audio and the ability to use the PS5 Pro's extra firepower. On top of that, you get some new in-game content. There's a dedicated speed mode for people who need to go fast.
Then there's a permadeath mode, which, as its name suggests, gives you one chance to best the game. But, you have the choice to start over in the second act and not from scratch if you so choose. And it has a dedicated trophy. Lastly, Days Gone Remastered adds a new horde mode that has you surviving against hordes of Freakers. Among other things, it gets you, "never-before-playable characters, new patch cosmetics, and unique Injectors".
