Sony's latest PlayStation Store sales now has Days Gone with a massive 60% discount that takes its price to an all-time low of $19.99. The version on sale is the Remastered one that released for the PlayStation 5 less than a year ago.

Criticized for its technical and narrative issues when it was released back in 2019, Days Gone has gained something of a cult following in the years since then. The open-world zombie action game received a remaster for the PlayStation 5 about a year ago, and that remaster is now on sale at the lowest price it's ever been.

Days Gone Remastered launched in late April 2025 with a $49.99 price tag on PlayStation 5, with owners of the PlayStation 4 version able to buy the upgrade for just $10. It's received a number of discounts since then, but the latest slashes 60% off that price till April 23, with the game now available on the PlayStation Store for $19.99—the lowest it's ever been. Seeing as it's a relatively recent PlayStation exclusive, this is probably the cheapest it'll be for a while as well.

As for the game itself, Days Gone is a bit of an acquired taste, although its fans are quite hardcore about how much they love it. IGN, at release, had this to say about the game:

Frantic hordes of zombies are exciting, but the world and repetition aren't...Deacon's charisma and bitchin' bike aren't enough to carry Days Gone's story, which is clumsily handled.

There is a lot of truth to that. While Days Gone has a number of strengths, it's hard to point at its story as one of them. It's perfectly serviceable, though, but much weaker than a similar title like The Last of Us was. The story missions can be repetitive, and the protagonist, Deacon St John, has received flak for being gruff, one-note, and overall lacking notable character development across the length of the game.

What Days Gone excels at, however, is excitement. And tension, in spades. Driving an upgraded bike across Oregon is an experience no other game offers at that level, and the feeling of facing off against your first horde of zombies is virtually unmatched. Combat, in general, is fun, although the gunplay isn't quite as good as the absolute best out there. The open world isn't particularly engaging either but Days Gone never pretends to offer a GTA-esque sandbox experience.

Days Gone is what it is: a biker game with incredible visuals that allows you to mow down hundreds of zombies at a time in a myriad of interesting ways. $19.99 for that would be considered a great deal by most fans of the game, and it's no surprise that the title has an 8.8 user score on Metacritic.
