Oppo’s new flagship earbuds offer dual drivers, Dynaudio tuning, adaptive ANC, and up to 53 hours of battery
Alongside the Oppo Find X10 series, Oppo has also introduced the next iteration of its top-of-the-line Enco X wireless earbuds. The new Enco X4 are a direct successor to the 2024 Enco X3 and offer several notable upgrades, including improved audio quality, active noise cancellation performance, and longer battery life.
The new Enco X4 buds pack the fourth-generation Dynaudio co-developed dual-drive unit consisting of an 11mm dynamic woofer and a 6mm tweeter. Oppo has kept the dual-DAC crossover architecture from the last-gen model, but we’re told the internal acoustic design has been revised to reduce distortion and improve bass over the Enco X3.
The Enco X series is known for its refined, neutral sound, and Oppo says the newer model is even better in that regard. Oppo’s audio engineering team worked with Dynaudio to tune the Enco X4’s audio signature, drawing inspiration from Dynaudio's flagship Hi-Fi speakers to deliver “natural and exceptionally pure sound.” How that claim translates to real-world performance remains to be seen, but if you’re coming from entry-level earbuds, these should sound vastly better.
Noise cancellation has also been improved, with Oppo claiming up to 200% better noise suppression than the Enco X3 based on its internal testing and benchmarks. The Enco X4 use a new 6nm NPU and adaptive ANC system that automatically adjusts the intensity of ANC in different environments. There’s also a new Conversation Awareness mode, which lowers music volume and changes ANC behavior when it detects you’re speaking to someone.
As you’d expect from a premium pair of earbuds, the Enco X4 supports Hi-Res 48KHz/24-bit audio streaming along with support for the popular high-resolution Bluetooth codec LHDC as well as lossy codecs such as AAC and SBC. Support for spatial audio is also onboard, and you also get access to several Dynaudio-tuned EQ presets through the companion app.
Call quality gets an update as well, with four beamforming microphones, including a VPU bone-conduction microphone, and AI-based voice separation working in tandem to keep the background noise during calls in check.
Battery life has increased noticeably over the previous generation. Oppo rates the Enco X4 for up to 13 hours of playback on the earbuds alone with ANC disabled, while the charging case extends total playback to 53 hours. That's up from the Enco X3's claimed 43-hour combined battery life.
Other highlights include Bluetooth 6.1, wireless and wired charging support, multipoint connectivity across Android and iOS, IP55 dust and water resistance, touch and swipe gesture controls, head gestures for answering or rejecting calls, and AI-powered live translation through Oppo's HeyMelody app.
Pricing & Availability
Oppo's new Enco X4 buds are launching first in China for CNY 1,199 and are available in Pink Gold, Soft White, and Titanium Grey. They're expected to get a global release, but Oppo hasn't officially provided any timeline just yet.
