Nikon Z5IIC 24.5MP mirrorless camera debuts with N-RAW 12-bit 4K60p video, AI hybrid AF, 7.5-stop IS, and 15 scene modes
Nikon has released the Z5IIC mirrorless full-frame digital camera for entry-level creators, photographers, and filmmakers looking for better image quality than smartphones. The camera comes with a 3.2-inch vari-angle touchscreen for convenient previews while taking 24.5 MP selfies or 4K60p videos. 15 creative scene modes along with customizable presets help create the desired look.
The Nikon Z5IIC uses a 24.5 MP sensor capable of capturing up to 30 fps thanks to the option to use its mechanical or electronic shutter to freeze images at shutter speeds up to 1/4000 or 1/2000 sec, respectively. The sensor has a sensitivity range of -4 to +17 EV with an ISO range of 50 to 204,800. These capabilities are leveraged in video mode to capture high-resolution 4K60p videos, with the option to save them as high-quality N-RAW 12-bit video files.
A 5-axis image stabilizer is built into the camera, providing up to 7.5 stops of stabilization for low-light or selfie photography and videography, notes Nikon. The camera can also be used for live streaming when connected to a laptop or smartphone.
Photos and videos can be viewed on the 1,040k-dot 3.2-inch touchscreen, which can be swiveled across a 170° viewing angle. The monitor can be used to select one of 15 scene modes, such as Food or Sports mode, as well as more than 140 downloadable Scene Recipes, or add film grain to achieve the desired look more quickly, according to Nikon. A custom color look can also be created and assigned to a dedicated Picture Control button for fast access.
The mirrorless camera weighs 19 oz. (538 g) and measures 5.3 x 3.2 x 2.9 in. (134 x 80.5 x 72 mm). It has a rated runtime of up to 390 shots or 85 minutes. The Nikon Z5IIC has an MSRP of $1,399.95 and is available from the Nikon store on Amazon.
