The Nintendo Switch 2 has allegedly been spotted in a new hands-on leak. A previously reliable source has also provided new insights into release windows, as well as possible Mario Kart 9 and Red Dead Redemption 2 launch titles.

This year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has been throughout all of this week. While countless devices have been unveiled at CES 2025, rumours about Nintendo's next console continue to bubble under. In part, this was aided by Genki showcasing various 'NS2' accessories designed unequivocally for the Switch 2.

Following that, a well-known leaker shared renders of the same console before a Gamestop employee revealed possible microSD Express support in a separate leak. Subsequently, a member of Famiboards posted an alleged photo of a working unit, which we have embedded above. In response, other members have speculated on the little that the image shows, including the size of the console's display bezels:

Assuming bezels are symmetric, the height of the screen would then be in the range of 100-102 mm. Using the aspect ratio of a 1080p screen, we would then estimate a width of 178-181 mm.

If the above is correct, then it would see the Switch 2 featuring an 8~8.2-inch display and not a circa 8.4-inch panel as @OnLeaks argued yesterday. Meanwhile, the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit has picked up fresh speculation from Average Lucia Fanatic, who is famed for making correct pronouncements about the PlayStation 5 Pro (curr. $699 on Amazon) ahead of its official release.

We would recommend taking the information contained in the image below with a healthy amount of scepticism for now. For instance, although Mario Kart 9 as a launch title may seem likely given Nintendo's past performance, using a seven-year-old triple-A game as a second option seems far-fetched. Likewise, CA$400 roughly converts to $280, which would be cheaper than the Switch OLED in the US. Ultimately, we will find out whether the first of these claims are accurate in a week's time.
