Casio is expanding its conservation-themed G-Shock lineup with the new GW-9502K-1 Mudman "African Hippo" Earthwatch collaboration, launching in November. This limited-edition Master of G has been unveiled as a motif for wildlife protection. Just like older models from the series, this new watch is durable, has eco-conscious construction, and comes with unique design cues.
The GW-9502K-1 is part of Casio’s "Love The Sea And The Earth" initiative, which supports Earthwatch Japan and environmental research. The case back and packaging feature an African hippo - the species Earthwatch aims to conserve - alongside a lush riverside motif which is accented by some animal and nature elements.
Staying true to the G-Shock Mudman series, the watch uses a rugged Carbon Core Guard structure, with prominent rose gold accents on the crowns and screws. The key distinguishing feature is the brown and stone-grey bezel. Eco-friendly elements include a strap made from biomass plastics and packaging produced from recycled materials.
The GW-9502K-1 delivers shock resistance, mud resistance, 200-meter water resistance, Tough Solar charging, and Multi Band 6 atomic timekeeping. The case back is engraved with hippo artwork and "Love The Sea And The Earth 2025". The included strap is inscribed with the text "Change the World. Yourself."
Expected to retail at ¥64,900, the GW-9502K-1 Mudman "African Hippo" Earthwatch collab will likely launch alongside the newly unveiled Casio Pro Trek 30th anniversary models. You can also check out the older GW-9500KJ-3JR on Amazon.
