New PocketBook Verse Pro Color e-reader with color display and IPX8 is now available
Over two months ago, PocketBook announced its new Verse Pro Color e-reader. The device is now available in bookstores and electronics retailers, including Amazon, for a recommended retail price of $169.
The new PocketBook Verse Pro Color is a classic and IPX8 waterproof e-reader with dimensions of 10.8 x 15.6 x 0.76 cm and a weight of 182 g. Its 6-inch display takes up most of the front. The manufacturer installs an E Ink Kaleido 3 color screen, which can display 4,096 colors and has a 50% improved resolution compared to the previous screen technology. It has a resolution of 1072 x 1448 and a dpi of 300 for the black and white display, and 536 x 724 and 150 for the color display.
The PocketBook Verse Pro Color offers, among other things, a quad-core processor and 16 GB of internal storage. 25 formats are supported, including the CBR and CBZ comic formats. The Kindle AZW and AZW3 formats can also be used if the content is not copy-protected. The device can also play six audio formats, and a wireless connection to loudspeakers or headphones can be established via Bluetooth 5.4. These features are rounded off by a SMARTlight function, text-to-speech, dual-band WiFi, an integrated online borrowing app and a battery life of up to one month, according to the manufacturer.
