Deal | HP Victus 15.6-inch laptop with AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS, 144 Hz screen, and Nvidia RTX 4050 discounted 39% at Walmart
With back-to-school shopping in full swing, it's an excellent time to snipe some solid savings. One such deal is HP's Victus 15z-fb200, which can currently be snagged at Walmart for a dollar shy of $600.
The laptop is a mid-tier gaming notebook, sporting an AMD Ryzen 5-8645HS and an Nvidia RTX 4050 (6 GB). This makes it a solid 1080p gaming machine with some 1440p chops, depending on the title. Additionally, the laptop has a 144 Hz 15.6-inch Full HD (1920x1080) display, allowing it to pump out buttery smooth animations at its native resolution.
The model on sale has 8 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512 GB NVMe SSD. The Victus does allow for some user upgrades with straightforward access to its dual SODIMM slots and single NVMe drive bay.
We reviewed a similar (though Intel-based) configuration, which received an overall score of 84%. We noted that that model had a good high-refresh rate display and solid battery life (about 7.5 hours in our Wi-Fi test). However, we also noted that the overall build quality wasn't stellar and there was no support for USB4 or Thunderbolt.
For a budget price, the HP Victus 15z-fb200 offers solid gaming performance. You can pick one up at Walmart for $599 here.
