New AI platform to create 3D games based on text input surfaces, trailer provides first insights
On August 15. 2024, the start-up "Exists", which specializes in artificial intelligence, published a press release to a generative AI platform that will enable users to create high-quality 3D games using text input alone - without any programming knowledge. This announcement was made alongside the release of a trailer demonstrating the platform's capabilities. According to founder and CEO Dr. Yotam Hechtlinger, "Exists" has big plans for the AI tool:
"Our goal is to enable the same paradigm shift in the gaming world that Generative AI has brought to text, image, video, and audio creation,” said Dr. Yotam Hechtlinger"
In the trailer, the use of the AI tool looks very simple. It appears that users can also edit the games afterwards. In the trailer, for example, the trees in a forest landscape were removed to create a smiley face. The landscapes are graphically quite impressive. As usual, faces look a little unnatural, which can be clearly seen by the Jackie Chan-like character in minute 0:43. The trailer shows shooters in first-person, third-person and top-down perspectives. Whether the AI can also develop complex role-playing or strategy games remains to be seen.
Presentation at gamescom
According to the press release, "Exists" will present the gaming AI tool at gamescom, which takes place from August 21 to 25 in the Cologne exhibition halls and is breaking its own exhibitor record this year. The startup will be located in hall 2.2 at stand C046a.
