Epic Games Store announces new free game giveaway after leaker reveals plans ahead of schedule
Leaker @billbil_kun has returned to beating Epic Games at its own game. In recent weeks, @billbil_kun has refrained from commenting on the storefront's upcoming giveaways, which it does anyway shortly after refreshing its free game of the week service. Incidentally, this week's giveaway is now live globally, full details of which we have provided separately.
Somehow, @billbil_kun managed to obtain information that Epic Games intended to discount both The Callisto Protocol and Gigantic Rampage Edition to $0.00 each, which the company then duly confirmed. For context, both games will be discounted from their MSRPs on August 22; Epic Games' current deal will last until 15:00 UTC on that same day.
As it stands, Epic Games is selling The Callisto Protocol and Gigantic: Rampage Edition for $59.99 and $19.99, respectively. Consequently, this means that next week's free game giveaway will be worth almost double this week's. Incidentally, both titles go for just as much on Steam too.
