Nitecore has released the EDC07, another ETC flashlight with switchable color temperatures of 3,000, 4,500, and 6,500 K. One setting offers a CRI of 97, and this gadget is also very lightweight and relatively affordable.
Nitecore has introduced the new EDC07 flashlight. At about 2.5 oz, this gadget is particularly light and follows the design approach of Nitecore’s other flat flashlights in the EDC series. The low weight is made possible by the plastic body, as flashlights with metal components typically weigh about 1.4 to 1.8 oz more.
In terms of features, the Nitecore EDC07 comes with the brand’s MCT technology for color switching. Two quad-die emitters are responsible for the color mixing and provide 3,000 K, 4,500 K and 6,500 K. The 3,000 K LEDs are especially accurate for color rendering thanks to a CRI of 97. In 4,500 K mode, the CRI drops to 83. The cool-white LEDs have the weakest color rendering with a CRI of 73.
In turbo mode, which remains available even when the battery is low as long as the flashlight does not overheat, the Nitecore EDC07 can run for a total of 2 hours 15 minutes. Output depends on the color temperature and ranges from 1,000 to 1,500 lumens. In the lowest mode at 1 lumen, it can last about 380 hours. The runtimes are fairly complex, which is why we have included Nitecore’s below this article.
The EDC flashlight can be recharged via USB Type-C, but the built-in battery can’t be replaced. Furthermore, the flashlight is fairly rugged and sports an IP67 rating. Nitecore’s official online store has already listed the new EDC07 for an MSRP of $45.95. In addition to a black version, there is also a sand-colored option.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
