Casio G-Shock launches new stealthy all-black collab watch with premium packaging

Seoul streetwear label Undermycar has its own G-Shock now. The DW-5600UMC26-1DR drops Thursday, August 6 at 11 AM Korea time, sold across four channels at once — Casio's Dosan store, Undermycar's Seongsu shop, Undermycar's own site, and KREAM, the Korean resale platform. Most likely, this release will sell out extremely quickly.
The design philosophy, according to the joint Instagram announcement from Undermycar and G-Shock's Korean account, was restraint. Instead of reworking the DW-5600's shape, the two stripped the watch down to a stealth all-black colorway and left the case mostly alone, adding only clean brand logos and a small signature mark — a bird-like icon — stitched into the strap alongside "murslanger Legacy" and "Undermycar Presents" text. The announcement depicts it explicitly as an anti-maximalist choice. Clearly, the brand has gone for a design that "won't get old" rather than chasing a trend.
The packaging is where it gets serious, really. The watch ships in a black leather-textured box with an embossed G-Shock logo and a wraparound leather band printed with both collaborators' name. This presentation is more typical of a premium leather goods drop than Casio's usual retail packaging.
Underneath all that, you get the standard DW-5600 architecture — a 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4 mm resin case, 200 m water resistance, and the shock-resistant build the line has run on since 1983, when Casio engineer Kikuo Ibe first designed the square case around the idea of a watch that wouldn't break when dropped. Casio and Undermycar haven't specified which module or exact feature set this particular version uses, though recent DW-5600 releases have generally shipped with LED rather than EL backlighting.
Neither price nor production quantity has been disclosed. Undermycar is a well-known name in Korean streetwear circles, previously collaborating with Atmos and Asics on a Gel-Kayano 14 release.
