Segway Max G3 Plus electric scooter unveiled with self-healing tires, traction control, and hands-free unlock

Segway has unveiled the Max G3 Plus electric scooter, a follow-up to its 2025 Max G3 scooter launched in 2025. The new model offers commuters a 56-mile (90 km) range thanks to an upgraded 717 Wh battery coupled with SegRange technology. The e-scooter comes with a range of safety and convenience features, including Segway AirLock auto locking and unlocking.
The new model reaches speeds up to 28 mph and outputs up to 2,200 watts to accelerate from 0 to 15 mph in 2.4 seconds. It is designed to stop reliably on its 11-inch self-healing tires thanks to 140 mm disc brakes combined with an Intelligent Combined Braking System (ICBS) and proprietary Traction Control System (TCS). Both front and rear wheels are hydraulically dampened.
The range of the e-scooter varies from 56 miles (90 km) in 11 mph ECO mode to 22 miles (35 km) in 28 mph SPORT+ mode. The battery supports 209 W Turbo charging, allowing it to be topped off in under four hours, according to Segway. The scooter has IPX6 water resistance offering protection against strong jets of water while riding in the rain.
The Max G3 Plus comes with a 2.4‑inch color display providing turn‑by‑turn navigation guidance, real‑time ride data, and charging estimates. For safety, the unit comes with safety lights, including turn signals and an auto-on 6-watt headlamp. The scooter also supports auto‑unlock via the Segway Mobility App and device tracking through Apple Find My network.
The Segway Max G3 Plus electric scooter has an MSRP of $1,499.99 and can be pre-ordered from the Segway store on Amazon with a $350 discount, with shipping beginning August 25, 2026.
