New Apple iPad release detailed with massive performance upgrade over older model

Apple updated numerous product lines this month as part of an extended launch strategy. To recap, the company updated the Studio Display, MacBook Pro and iPad Air while also introducing the Studio Display XDR, iPhone 17e and the MacBook Neo. Then last week it launched the AirPods Max 2 out of nowhere in five colours (curr. $529.99 on Amazon).
According to ESR Tech, a refreshed entry-level iPad is almost upon us, too. Despite there being no public announcement from Apple yet, ESR Tech is already advertising 'paper-feel' screen protectors for the iPad 12th Generation. While still online at the time of publication, we have embedded images below for when ESR Tech takes down its listing.
Seemingly, the iPad's design remains unchanged for its 12th Gen release. Thus, the tablet features a flat 11-inch display surrounded by even but comparatively thick bezels. ESR Tech believes that Apple will continue to install a front-facing camera for use in a landscape orientation, too.
Moreover, the company reports that the iPad 12th Gen will launch with Apple's A18 chipset. Although it has been replaced by the A19 and A19 Pro, the A18 should make the new iPad over 20% more powerful than its A16 Bionic-backed predecessor. Single-core performance could be anywhere between 24% and 30% higher, though. The SoC change should ensure that the iPad 12th Gen launches with 8 GB of RAM and Apple Intelligence support, as well.
