New AnTuTu rankings released, Xiaomi Mi 9 tops
Popular benchmark platform AnTuTu has released its Android rankings for the month of February, and a new device is now king. The device, the Xiaomi Mi 9, was released a few weeks ago, and is among the first devices to feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 855.
The Mi 9 dethrones the Nubia Red Magic Mars, Nubia’s high-performance gaming phone that was released a few months ago. Interestingly, the Nubia Red Magic Mars—a device powered by the last-gen Snapdragon 845—manages to still be ahead of Huawei’s Kirin 980-powered flagships.
The Mi 9 sits comfortably in first, while the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT, the first device to be announced with a Snapdragon 855, sits in second. The aforementioned Nubia Red Magic Mars is third, and the Huawei Mate 20 is fourth.
Xiaomi usually works some magic on its devices that keeps them ahead of other flagships running on the same SoC. As such, we’d be surprised to see the Mi 9 dethroned next month, especially since the only other high-profile Snapdragon 855-powered flagships are the Samsung Galaxy S10 phones.
