AnTuTu news: The Vivo NEX 3 is the fastest phone in the world
The Vivo NEX 3, a new flagship that was unveiled today in China, has just climbed on top of the AnTuTu smartphone ranking with a score of over 490,000 points. The next two handsets are the Black Shark 2 Pro and the Asus ROG Phone 2, both scoring slightly above 469,000 points. The NEX 3 will go on sale later this week starting around US$800.
Available in both 4G and 5G versions, the new Vivo NEX 3 lineup is trying to redefine the standard of flagship devices with an innovative display design concept and the best performance the world has seen so far. While the "world's fastest phone" might seem like nothing but an empty claim, AnTuTu has just confirmed that the NEX 3 is the highest-scoring device ever tested using the mobile benchmarking suite.
The score of 493,797 points achieved by a NEX 3 variant with 8 GB of memory and 256 GB of internal storage space is way ahead of its successors — the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro and the Asus ROG Phone 2, which both scored around 469,000 points. With only 447,345 points, the OnePlus 7 Pro has been pushed to fourth place.
Obviously, Vivo should thank Qualcomm for the excellent performance of the Snapdragon 855+ chipset. It will be interesting to see the scores of the next flagships powered by this piece of silicon once more become available.
Sporting an impressive 99.6 screen-to-body ratio, the Vivo NEX 3 also features a triple main camera that uses the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 64 MP sensor, a 4,500 mAh battery, and more. For more details, the video embedded after the paragraph below should give you a better idea than just some empty words about the touch-controlled unibody design used by this device. As usual with such radical design choices, some will love the NEX 3 and others will hate it.
What do you think about Vivo's latest flagship? Sadly, grabbing one might be a problem for most of us, since the NEX 3 is expected to hit China later this week starting around US$800. Other markets should follow "in the coming months" according to the official press release, so we can only wait for the time being — or plan a shopping trip to China as soon as possible, of course.

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I've been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
