HP only announced the Envy 34 inch All-in-One (AiO) Desktop PC yesterday, but there is already some confusion about which GPU that machine features. Initially, the company stated that the AiO would feature the GeForce RTX 3080, one of NVIDIA's latest GPUs based on its Ampere architecture.
Subsequently, the company stated on its website that the machine would be available with 'Up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 SUPER graphics'. NVIDIA is expected to unveil the RTX 30 SUPER series in early 2022 for desktops and laptops, possibly as early as CES 2022 in January. The company has made no SUPER-related announcements yet, though.
Accordingly, HP has corrected its mistake by reverting to 'Up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 graphics', although it remains unclear if this is the desktop or laptop variant. The HP Envy 32 utilises an RTX 2080 Max-Q, so we suspect that the Envy 34 has a laptop version of the RTX 3080.
Nonetheless, websites have started speculating that HP plans to offer the RTX 3080 SUPER in the Envy 34 at some stage. We would be surprised if HP did this though, as it decided against upgrading the Envy 32 to an RTX 2080 SUPER, which did make it into the likes of the Alienware m17 R3.
