Some Monster Hunter Wilds monsters are grueling to hunt, as players have discovered in the open beta. To make facing creatures like Arkveld less stressful, the game's blacksmith Gemma, is hosting a pre-release contest. Since the second beta test ends today, the giveaway is taking place on X. If enough participants share the suggested hashtag, Capcom will award 100 armor shards per player.
In the Monster Hunter series, shards are essential when upgrading armor. Normally, farming monsters or completing quests is necessary to accumulate these materials. Gemma's contest aims to give PC and console gamers a head start on the February 28 Monster Hunter Wilds release date.
Players must first follow the official Monster Hunter X account to score the shards. Then, retweet the hashtag #WildsArmorSpheres or use it in a new post. For every 1,000 posts following these directions, players will receive one armor shard. The goal is to collectively use the hashtag 100,000 times, resulting in a maximum of 100 armor shards for each hunter. Capcom will distribute the shards in-game after they are released, with more details revealed shortly.
Capcom is aiming to keep Monster Hunter Wilds players hyped after the open beta ends on February 17th. Thanks to the PlayStation Network outage, the extended beta is giving gamers extra time to collect other rewards. To receive items like raw meat, shock traps, and dung pods, only creating a character in the beta is necessary. While quests are currently limited, any progression and bonus items will carry over to the game's full release.
