Miyoo A30: Full specifications for new retro gaming handheld detailed with Nintendo 64 emulation performance shown
Various sources have shared more details about the Miyoo A30, shortly before the device's expected release. To recap, Miyoo revealed the A30 over a month ago with the Mini Flip. While the pair are rumoured to be launching within the next few weeks, Miyoo has not confirmed full specifications for either device yet.
Although this is still true of the Mini Flip, it is now clear that the A30 will contain the following hardware within a 125 x 57 x 15 mm and 115 g housing:
- 2.8-inch display, 640 x 480 pixels
- 512 MB RAM
- 16 GB flash storage
- 2,600 mAh battery (3.7 V)
Additionally, the A30 will feature Wi-Fi connectivity, just like the Miyoo Mini Plus (curr. $76.99 on Amazon). On top of that, Miyoo has equipped the A30 with the Allwinner A33, a chipset that powers other gaming handhelds like the PocketGo S30. As the video below shows, the Allwinner A33, with its four ARM Cortex-A7 CPU cores and Mali-400 MP2 GPU, should be powerful to emulate Nintendo 64 games.
Moreover, the PocketGo S30 can handle most Game Boy Advance, SEGA Mega Drive and PlayStation games. With that being said, the Allwinner A33 lacks the performance necessary to emulate Dreamcast and PlayStation Portable titles. Unfortunately, pricing and availability remain unknown for now, we imagine that it will cost roughly as much as the Anbernic RG28XX.
