Revealed to be starting at US$1,699.99, the Surface Book 3 will come with up to 32 GB of RAM, a 2 TB SSD and an NVIDIA Quadro GPU. 13.5-inch and 15-inch variants are on the way, as are NVIDIA GTX GPUs, apparently. Possibly the GTX 1650 Max-Q and GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q, the jury is still out on whether the Surface Book 3 will feature Comet Lake-U or Ice Lake-U processors. There is a chance that Microsoft will offer both architectures, though.
Alex Alderson,

The launch of the Surface Book 3 nears, with Microsoft expected to launch its premier Surface hardware before the end of next month. While there has been some discussion about what CPUs and GPUs Microsoft plans to include in its next Surface Book, Roland Quandt has revealed US pricing for several configurations. As expected, Microsoft will release two versions of the Surface Book 3, just as it did with the Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop 3.

As we have laid out below, there will be a Core i5 model without a dedicated GPU. Going off a 3DMark listing, this model will feature the Core i5-1035G1. This could well be the Core i5-10210U though, according to leaked retailer listings. Moreover, other 3DMark listings have suggested that Microsoft will offer the Surface Book 3 with the GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q and GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q. Do not be surprised if Microsoft only offers the former with the 13.5-inch model and the latter with the 15-inch model, though.

According to Quandt, Microsoft has more variants of the Surface Book 3 planned, too. That got us thinking, what if Microsoft is planning to release Comet Lake-U and Ice Lake-U versions of the Surface Book 3? The company offers AMD and Intel processors for the Surface Laptop 3 15, for example, albeit 10th Gen Intel Core processors are only available on the "Surface Laptop 3 15 for Business". Hence, we would not be surprised if Microsoft did something similar with the Surface Book 3. We could be wide of the mark, but it would seem strange for Ice Lake-U models to reach benchmarking websites shortly before the device's expected release only for Microsoft not to announce them.

Nonetheless, Quandt also believes that Quadro GPUs will only make their way to the Surface Book 3 15. Specifically, only SKUs with 32 GB of RAM and at least 512 GB of storage will have Quadro GPUs, with Microsoft including a GTX GPU for other SKUs. Going off Surface Book 2 SKUs, we would expect the 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage model listed above to be the entry-level Surface Book 3 15.
