Get Amped for GTC 2020, according to NVIDIA. Rescheduled for May 14, CEO Jensen Huang previously stated that the event would not disappoint. The company is expected to announce its first Ampere GPUs, the next-generation successors to the RTX 20 series and the Turing architecture.

GTC 2020 has long been speculated about as the first event where NVIDIA will unveil its Ampere architecture. Huang has done little to dissuade those rumours either, remarking in February that GTC 2020 "will not disappoint". Now, the company has hinted that we should "get Amped" for Ampere.

Rescheduled for May 14, GTC 2020 had been reduced to an online event in February and then cancelled altogether in March. Now CEO Jensen Huang will host a pre-recorded keynote address on YouTube at 06:00 PDT (UTC-07:00).

While GTC 2020 includes live webinars and recorded talks, for which you can register on the GTC website, the star of the show will probably be NVIDIA's "latest platform breakthroughs in…Professional Graphics." The phrase "Get Amped" does not necessarily guarantee that NVIDIA will showcase the Ampere architecture on May 14, but this does seem like a pretty big hint to us, at any rate.

NVIDIA will release its GTC 2020 keynote address, featuring founder and CEO Jensen Huang, on YouTube on May 14, at 6 a.m. Pacific time.

Huang will highlight the company’s latest innovations in AI, high performance computing, data science, autonomous machines, healthcare and graphics during the recorded keynote. Participants will be able to view the keynote on demand at www.youtube.com/nvidia.

Originally scheduled for March 23, the GTC 2020 keynote was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. NVIDIA moved the conference online, where the GTC Digital event has attracted more than 45,000 registered attendees who have participated in 300 recorded talks and dozens of instructor-led sessions.
