NVIDIA's new range of RTX Quadro cards is almost here, and the RTX (A)6000 may well be at the top of the pack. The 300 W card is expected to launch on October 5 with a GA102 GPU, 48 GB of GDDR6 VRAM and a new 8-pin power connector.

The first images and details of the NVIDIA Quadro RTX (A)6000 have leaked, courtesy of Moore's Law Is Dead. Apparently, the card will be the flagship of NVIDIA's new Quadro RTX series, which will be based on the company's Ampere architecture. According to Moore's Law Is Dead, NVIDIA has based the RTX (A)6000 around its GA102 GPU. The card will have 10,752 CUDA cores and a boost clock of 1,860 MHz, while offering a TDP of 300 W.

The Quadro card will also have 46 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, a slower variant than NVIDIA uses in the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090. The VRAM in the Quadro will operate at 16 Gbps and on a 384-bit interface, yielding a bandwidth of 768.10 GB/s. Videocardz speculates that NVIDIA will release GDDR6X professional cards next year though, which will have 2 GB capacity per module.

That is not all, though. Moore's Law Is Dead adds that the upcoming Quadro card will feature a new 8-pin power connector. It remains to be seen whether this will be exclusive to the Quadro series, or why one is ever needed. Either way, we should find out when NVIDIA hosts its GTC Digital event on October 5, where it is expected to unveil the Quadro RTX (A)6000.
