Medion Akoya E2215T
The Medion Akoya E2215T is a 11.6-inch 2-in-1 convertible. It is adequately compact to be a tablet whilst having enough performance to fulfil the criteria of a subnotebook. From its appearance, it is obvious that the Akoya is largely made of plastic. The top and bottom of the device is silver in color. Its interior on the other hand is black in color. With the 360-degree hinge system, the device can be transformed into multiple forms (i.e. tablet, tent or notebook modes) according to the preference of users. However, the touchscreen capability is only available in tablet mode. Weighing at 1.1 kg, this convertible is an ideal device to be carried about. It is also lighter than its rivals such as the HP Pavilion 11 and the Asus Transformer Book Flip. It is powered by the Intel Atom x5-Z8350 processor with 1.44 GHz clock frequency. With these specs, it is perfect for surfing the web or watching videos. It may not be appropriate for running intensive software, yet it is generally suitable for reading and editing MS Office documents. To conform to its slim factor, the choice of connectivity appears minimal as it is integrated with a mini HDMI jack and a MicroSD slot. The built in storage is relatively limited at 32 GB. However, you can expand the storage capacity with a microSD card (up to 256 GB). There are also 2 USB ports for added connectivity. The keyboard attached to the convertible is somewhat cramped. This comes to no surprise considering its compact form. Extended typing may require an external keyboard as the compact keyboard is not comfortable enough. Nevertheless, it comes with a clickpad, which is spacious and sensitive enough for proper usage. The 11.6-inch display has a Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels at 190 PPI) as well as IPS technology. Thus, the display can be viewed from various angles with clarity. Usage outdoors is reasonable provided that the sun is not too bright. Wireless connectivity includes both Wifi and Bluetooth. Overall, this is a solid device for those who do not need high requirements. It is also good value for money as it functions well as a tablet and a notebook. Students will find the Akoya appealing as it is lightweight and powerful enough for presentations and word processing. Furthermore, it is ideal for performing everyday tasks such as web surfing and video streaming. Nevertheless, those who require performance for more demanding tasks should opt for higher end laptops. Medion Akoya E3216-MD61800
The Medion Akoya E3216 notebook, also known as Aldi Convertible is a convertible that offers a very good price-performance ratio. It is manufactured by Medion, which is a German consumer electronics company. The convertible measures at 19.9 x 315 x 215 mm and weighs 1.5 kg. This weight is typical for convertibles. The case workmanship is on a good level even if the display hinge is not always locked properly, which is a problem which can also occur with other convertibles, and other manufacturers. The 13.3-inch Full HD display of this notebook hybrid is the shining highlight that is second to none in its class. With a maximum brightness of 308 cd/m² and a good checkerboard contrast of 196:1, it is a decent display that can deliver bright and vivid display. The sRGB color space coverage is also very good at 91.5 percent. In the field of multimedia, there are stereo speakers with HD sound and Dolby audio technology. A webcam with HD optics and a microphone are housed in the frame. A fingerprint scanner contributes to the security of the data. The power supply of the Medion notebook is via the 2-cell 37 Wh battery. It offers a battery life of up to 6 hours. The software is the Windows 10 Home operating system with Windows Cortana and Windows Hello on board. Other apps are preinstalled. The main computing unit is an Intel Pentium N4200 processor (up to 2.5 GHz and 2 MB cache), which is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. Compared to the previous Atom generation, the per-MHz performance of the CPU architecture was vastly improved and the graphics adapter was improved as well. With 64 GB flash memory, the user does not get much storage for data. However, the storage capacity is expandable via MicroSD card. As for graphics, it has an Intel HD Graphics 505, which is an integrated low-end graphics adapter with DirectX 12 support which can be found in some ULV SoCs of the Apollo Lake series. Non-demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards. The convertible has a good keyboard, the housing of the stroke is sufficient. The back pressure is okay even if the keys are a bit slippery. Since the fingerprint sensor is integrated into the mouse replacement, user lose some touchpad surface. For the fingerprint reader to login works perfectly and very fast. As wireless networking is possible via Bluetooth 4.1 and WLAN ac module. Connectivity options include a USB 2.0, a USB 3.1, 1x USB 3.1 Type-C including DisplayPort, an HDMI port and a combination audio port. The Akoya E3216-MD61800 is another ultraportable laptop made for running light applications and document editing tasks. It has a small storage space and users will have to rely on external drives or cloud storage space for storing more media files and documents. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

Medion Akoya E4253-30024991
Medion has been an electronics brand which has smoothly sailed through the arduous passage of time and somehow maintained its seemingly unwavering spot for being among one of the few available choices in the marketing industry – albeit the figure does not exactly rival top tier brands of the world – when decision-making in purchasing a laptop is weighed on a scaled expenditure. While retaining a keen eye for variety, the Medion Akoya E4253 comes off as inexpensive and presents itself as a rather attractive option for those satisfied with just having a decent and undemanding laptop in their possession. The Medion Akoya E4253 has a screen size of 14 inch. This is considered rather large among the three categories of display size used for subnotebooks, ultrabooks, as well as convertibles. It has an aspect ratio of 16:9, which is not entirely bad, as well as a standard screen resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The display screen is matted and not glossy even the slightest, which is something very much appreciated due to potential reflection of light sources coming from the background of a brightly lit environment. The Medion Akoya E4253 is operated by processing units hailing from the Gemini Lake platform, namely, the Intel Pentium Silver N5000 with integrated Intel UHD Graphics 605. The Intel Pentium Silver N5000 is a quad-core processor, which can be primarily found in a vast range of affordable, inexpensive laptop models. The Intel Pentium Silver N5000 is slightly revised and performs inherently better than older processors up to a clocked speed of 200 MHz. However, as attractive as the name sounds, it’s not exactly up to par with processors that can be found in recent releases since the origin of the Intel Pentium Silver N5000 dates way back to the 2017. It is a processor merely adequate enough to sustain regular workload and casual web browsing. The Intel UHD Graphics 605, which apparently comes as a pair alongside the Intel Pentium Silver N5000, shows very little promise when it comes to performance. This graphics unit is barely sufficient for modern Triple A (AAA) games and the lack of dedicated graphics memory only worsens matters at hand. The lack of a dedicated graphics memory creates a compulsory dependency to access the main memory via processor, which can extend loading times and dampens the duration needed to boot up all the programs that are installed in the Medion Akoya E4253. Users will experience evident burden and misery when attempting to run modern games on the Medion Akoya E4253 even at the lowest possible in-game configurations. Needless to say, this laptop model is better suited for less demanding tasks. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

Its four CPU cores run at 1.1 GHz to 2.5 GHz; these are not Hyper-Threading-enabled meaning there are no additional threads. This chip has a fairly competent integrated graphics solution, the Intel HD Graphics 505, and eats very little (~6 W). The Pentium N4200 is based on the Goldmont CPU microarchitecture that came to replace Silvermont (2013), bringing with it several welcome improvements. The CPU is Secure Boot-compatible; technically, it will have no issue running 64-bit Windows 11. The average N4200 in our database competes with the Core i5-3339Y, a low-power SoC launched in 2013, in multi-thread performance.
Intel Core i5:
5257U: Broadwell-based low-voltage dual-core processor for notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated Iris Graphics 6100 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.

Z8300: Soc with an integrated quad core Atom processor clocked at 1.44 - 1.84 GHz, an Intel HD Graphics GPU and a dual channel LPDDR3-1600 memory controller.
Intel Atom: The Intel Atom series is a 64-Bit (not every model supports 64bit) microprocessor for cheap and small notebooks (so called netbooks), MIDs, or UMPCs. The speciality of the new architecture is the "in order" execution (instead of the usual and faster "out of order" execution). Therefore, the transistor count of the Atom series is much lower and, thus, cheaper to produce. Furthermore, the power consumption is very low. The performance per Megahertz is therfore worse than the old Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz on par with a 1.6 GHz Atom).
Z3735F: SoC with an integrated quad-core Atom processor clocked up to 1.83 GHz, an Intel HD Graphics GPU and a single channel DDR3L-RS-1333 memory controller.

Intel Celeron:
N2840: Soc with an integrated dual core Atom processor clocked at up to 2.58 GHz and an Intel HD Graphics GPU.
Celeron N3350: An Apollo Lake family, dual-core, ultra-low-power processor (SoC) that saw the light of day in 2016. Its two cores run at 1.1 GHz to 2.4 GHz; these are not Hyper-Threading-enabled meaning there are no additional threads. This chip has a fairly competent integrated graphics solution, the Intel HD Graphics 500, and eats very little (~6 W). The Celeron N3350 is based on the Goldmont CPU microarchitecture that came to replace Silvermont (2013), bringing with it several welcome improvements. The CPU is Secure Boot-compatible; technically, it will have no issue running 64-bit Windows 11. The average N3350 in our database is just as fast as the venerable Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 is in multi-thread loads; the two cores of this Celeron trail behind a single core of any half-decent CPU such as the Intel Core i3-7130U.
Celeron N3450: Frugal quad-core SoC from the Apollo Lake series for inexpensive notebook. Runs with clocks between 1.1-2.2 GHz and integrates a DirectX 12 capable graphics adapter. The Ryzen features Zen 2 CPU cores running at 2.3 GHz to 4.0 GHz along with the Vega 6 graphics adapter (6 x 64 = 384 unified shaders). The thread-doubling SMT technology is not enabled in the case of Ryzen 5 4500U.
Intel Tiger Lake:
i5-1135G7: A quad-core, mid-range processor of Tiger Lake product family designed for use in ultra-light laptops. The i5 is manufactured on Intel's second-gen 10 nm process marketed as SuperFin and features an 80 EU Iris Xe G7 iGPU. Core i5-1135G7 has a base clock speed of 2.4 GHz as long as it is allowed to consume 28 watts.
i3-1115G4: Tiger Lake based dual-core processor for thin and light laptops. The two CPU cores are clocked at 3 GHz - 4.1 GHz and the integrated UHD Graphics Xe GPU can run at up to 1.25 GHz.

The Sunny Cove microarchitecture that is in use here is notable for several improvements over Skylake including support for new technologies, new instruction sets and fast LPDDR4-3733 RAM. There is no PCIe 4 support here, however.
Intel Alder Lake-M:
i5-1235U: On Alder-Lake based mobile CPU with 2 performance cores and 8 efficient cores. The performance cores offer hyper threading, leading to 12 threads that can be processed. The CPU clocks from 0.9 to 4.4 GHz. The TDP is specified at 15 Watt.

8.00:
Large smartphones and a few small tablets are available for this display size. Unlike most smartphones, you can see more on the screen, more details and use larger resolutions. Such formats are better for people with defective vision. However, such devices are no longer easy to fit in a pocket, and they are probably not quite light either.
14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
16.00:
This range for display formats was and is a rarity. It is larger than the general standard of 15 inches, but not yet in the range of large workstations. One usually has higher screen resolutions available, but portability suffers from that.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
0.317 kg:
2.8 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
75.9%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
