MediaTek has launched its latest mobile processor as the Helio G99. It is based on a 6-nanometer (or 6nm) architecture, and has 2 ARM Cortex-A76 cores with a top speed of up to 2.2GHz, and 6 Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2.0GHz. Its GPU is the Mali-G57 MC2, and supports its OEM's HyperEngine 2.0 Lite.
Therefore, even though this new G99 is a 4G/LTE-only chipset, MediaTek asserts that it will make for some of the highest-performing new phones with this level of connectivity.
It is rated to drive up-to-120Hz displays; then again, this spec can be paired with slightly older internal standards only, including RAM of the LPDDR4X-4266 standard and storage with UFS 2.2 speeds.
The G99 also supports Wi-Fi 5, and can sustain voice over 4G for both cards in cases of a dual-SIM device. This, then, is what might be expected of the newest addition to the Infinix Note 12 line.
The company has announced that it will update this series of smartphones with a new, G99-powered variant. The new Note 12 lacks pricing and availability, although Infinix hints this info will be here "soon".
