MSI CreatorPro Z17 arrives with HDMI 2.1 and dual Thunderbolt 4 ports for €3,499
MSI has announced the CreatorPro Z17, a larger alternative to the CreatorPro Z16P. Unsurprisingly, the CreatorPro Z17 is larger and heavier than the 16-inch model. However, the pair utilise almost identical hardware. The CreatorPro Z17 will launch for €3,499 too, matching the CreatorPro Z16P.
According to MSI, the CreatorPro Z17 measures 382 x 260 x 19 mm, making it just as thick as the CreatorPro Z16P. The former weighs 2.49 kg though, 100 g more than the CreatorPro Z16P. For some reason, MSI has equipped the CreatorPro Z16P and CreatorPro Z17 with the same 131 x 82 mm trackpad, despite the latter's 23 mm wider chassis.
Likewise, the CreatorPro Z17 contains a Core i7-12700H or Core i9-12900H processor, plus an RTX A3000 or RTX A5500 GPU. Also, the laptop has a 16:10 display that operates at 165 Hz and 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, mirroring the CreatorPro Z16P. The CreatorPro Z17 has a 90 Wh battery like the CreatorPro Z16P as well, although MSI has equipped the former with more ports than the latter.
Specifically, the CreatorPro Z17 ships with a HDMI 2.1 port capable of powering an 8K external display at 60 Hz or a 4K one at 120 Hz. Incidentally, the CreatorPro Z17 has a second Thunderbolt 4 port too, unlike the CreatorPro Z16P. The CreatorPro Z17 has the following ports; availability remains unknown at this stage.
- 1x Thunderbolt 4 / DP/ USB Type-C (w/ PD Charging)
- 1x Thunderbolt 4 / DP/ USB Type-C
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- 1x HDMI (8K@ 60Hz / 4K@ 120Hz)
- 1x SD Express Memory Card Reader
- 1x DC-in
