While MSI has refreshed the Prestige 14 and Prestige 14 EVO, the company has also upgraded the Modern 14, a 319 x 223 x 19.35 mm laptop that weighs 1.4 kg. Like the Prestige 14, the Modern 14 has a 14-inch IPS-level display that operates at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Likewise, the Modern 14 features 12th Gen. Intel Core processors, but only 15 W variants. In comparison, MSI equips the Prestige 14 with Intel's more powerful 28 W parts.
Specifically, the Modern 14 will be available with the Core i3-1215U and Core i5-1235U, depending on the configuration chosen. However, both configurations have 8 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, 512 GB of PCIe Gen3 x4 storage and ship with Windows 11. Additionally, the Modern 14 does not have any dedicated GPU options but in Classic Black and Urban Silver colourways.
According to MSI, the Modern 14 will start at US$699 with the Core i3-1215U. In comparison, the Core i5-1235U version will retail for US$799, making the Modern 14 significantly cheaper than the Prestige 14 EVO, which also has integrated graphics. Both Modern 14 configurations have the same ports, listed below:
- 1x 3.5 mm audio jack
- 1x HDMI
- 1x microSD card reader
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A
- 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
