MSI has launched the CreatorPro X17 powered by the latest Alder Lake-HX processor options up to the Core i9-12900HX and Nvidia workstation graphics up to the RTX A5500. The CreatorPro X17 joins previously announced MSI CreatorPro laptops including the CreatorPro M series, CreatorPro Z16P and the CreatorPro Z17.

Earlier this year, MSI announced several CreatorPro laptops including the CreatorPro M series, CreatorPro Z16P and the CreatorPro Z17 pwoered by Intel Alder Lake-H processors and up to Nvidia RTX A5000 mobile workstation graphics. Today, MSI is taking wraps off a new flagship addition to the CreatorPro lineup — the CreatorPro X17 powered by Intel's latest 16-core Alder Lake-HX Core i9-12900HX CPU.

The CreatorPro X17 features a 17.-3-inch UHD IPS-level True Pixel display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. MSI said that each CreatorPro X17 display is individually color-calibrated to achieve a Delta E of less than 2. The True Color applet within MSI Center will now display the calibration report as well.

Buyers can configure the CreatorPro X17 with up to an Nvidia RTX A5500 Laptop GPU with 16 GB GDDR6 VRAM. A Gen 5 x4 NVMe slot is available to accommodate the latest PCIe Gen 5 SSDs while three other NVMe slots run at Gen 4 x4 speeds. Up to 128 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM can be configured.

Unlike the new Titan GT77, MSI does not indicate any Corsair mechanical switches for the CreatorPro X17. However, we still get to see a SteelSeries-branded keyboard with per-key RGB lighting, hot keys, and a full numeric keypad. A fingerprint reader is provided in the right palm rest area; an IR camera is available as well for Windows Hello logins, but at just a 720p resolution.

Being a workstation-class device, there is no dearth of connectivity options on the CreatorPro X17. You get both Killer Ethernet E3100G 2.5G LAN and Killer AX1675 Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.2. Port selection includes 2x Thunderbolt 4, 3x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-As, 1x mini-DisplayPort-out, 1x HDMI-out (8K 60 Hz / 4K 120 Hz), and a combo audio jack. An SD Express card reader is offered as well.

The CreatorPro X17 uses a 99.99 Whr 4-cell Li-Polymer battery, which is the highest battery capacity allowed on commercial flights. In any case, the supplied 330 W power adapter is definitely needed when pushing the Core i9-12900HX and the RTX A5500 to the hilt.

Pricing for the MSI Creator X17 will be made available at a later date.
