MSI Vector GP76 and GP66 refreshed with new Intel processors, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, and more
MSI has refreshed its Vector GP76 and Vector GP66 with Intel's new high-power Alder Lake-HX processors. Some new display configurations are also thrown in the mix, along with a new GPU. MSI will announce the price and availability of both laptops at a later date.
One can configure the MSI Vector GP76 and GP66 laptops with up to an Intel Core i9-12900HX processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU. MSI's Overboost technology allocates 250 Watts of power to both the CPU and GPU, and each component can dynamically adjust its power draw based on the workload.
Moving on to the screen, the MSI Vector GP76 offers a 17.3-inch 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. A QHD (2,560 x 1,400) 240 Hz variant is also available. Both panels cover 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The Vector GP66 has a smaller 15.6-inch QHD 240 Hz IPS LCD panel. A 720p webcam sits on top of the screen, which is disappointing, given that most high-end laptops have now transitioned to 1080p.
The MSI Vector GP76 and GP66 support up to 64 GB of 4,800 MT/s DDR5 RAM and come with a 1 TB PCI-e Gen4 NVMe SSD. For connectivity, there is one Thunderbolt 4.0 port, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A port, two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, one HDMI 2.1 port, and one RJ-45 Ethernet jack, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
MSI hasn't revealed a whole lot more about the Vector GP76 and GP66. Both laptops will run Windows 11 out of the box and come with two 2W speakers. The 65 Wh battery supports 330W fast charging via the included power brick.
