While computers and smartphones have now been exempted from the new US tariffs, a couple of manufacturers have already responded. As for gaming handhelds, the Lenovo Legion Go S recently saw a $50 bump, and now, MSI has increased the price of Lunar Lake-powered MSI Claw gaming handhelds.
As spotted by Windows Central, both the MSI Claw 8 AI+ and Claw 7 AI+ have seen a silent $100 price hike. To be exact, on the official US store, the Claw 7 AI+ is now listed at $899.99 instead of its initial $799.99 MSRP, while the Claw 8 AI+ is listed at $999.99 instead of $899.99.
Windows Central also notes that the same gaming handhelds didn't see a price hike in other regions, which makes it pretty evident that the silent price bumps are a response to the new US tariffs. It's still unclear whether the newly announced exemption for smartphones and computers will bring the MSI Claw 8 AI+ and Claw 7 AI+ back to their original MSRP.
Another thing that's worth noting is that some of the retailers have yet to update their listings. For example, on Best Buy, the Claw 7 AI+ is still listed at $829, which is already inflated price from the MSRP.
Regarding the case of the Legion Go S, however, Lenovo told Windows Central that the $50 price hike is on the retailers. That is, Lenovo has seemingly not officially increased the price of the gaming handheld. The retailers have yet to respond to this.
