Lenovo has started selling a new lightweight 14-inch in the US. Fully redesigned from last year, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 Aura Edition combines Intel Panther Lake with a modular chassis, a haptic trackpad and a 120 Hz VRR OLED display.

The latest ThinkPad X1 Carbon has been around for a while in some markets. Announced in January during CES 2026, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 Aura Edition reached the Eurozone and the UK at the start of March before shipping later that month. Now, Lenovo has quietly released the laptop in the US with a choice of Intel Panther Lake processors.

Not only that, but Lenovo has redesigned the ThinkPad X1 Carbon for its Gen 14 release. For instance, this year's model can push around a third more wattage to its processor. Nonetheless, Lenovo rates the Gen 14 for over 13 hours of battery life from its 58 Wh battery in the JEITA-BAT 3.0 test at 200 nits even in its most powerful configuration. By contrast, the equivalent Gen 13 model is said to last about 30 minutes longer in the same test (curr. $1,979 on Amazon).

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 has a comparatively large trackpad and full-sized arrow keys despite its 14-inch form factor.

Additionally, the latest ThinkPad X1 Carbon features a modular keyboard thanks to a new magnesium mid-frame. The Gen 14 edition can be configured with a haptic trackpad too, as well as a choice of IPS and OLED displays up to a 2.8K (2,880 x 1,800) panel that combines 500 nits peak brightness with a 30-120 Hz variable refresh rate.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 Aura Edition starts at $2,139 with a Core Ultra 5 335 vPro, 32 GB of LPDDR5x-8533 RAM and a 256 GB SSD. Alternatively, the laptop can be configured with the Core Ultra 7 355 and 16 GB of RAM for $1,884. Selecting the Core Ultra 7 365 vPro allows one to configure 64 GB of RAM running at 9,600 MT/s. For reference, Lenovo also sells Core Ultra 7 356H and Core Ultra 7 366H processors with twice as many CPU cores as their non-H counterparts. Please see the company's website for more details.
