Lenovo announces imminent launch for new compact gaming tablet

Lenovo has now revealed when it will be launching its next gaming tablet. To recap, the company presented the Legion Tab Gen 5 this week during MWC 2026 in Barcelona. While Lenovo shared full device specifications, it refrained from providing a specific release date.
Instead, it has clarified when the tablet's Chinese counterpart will be available. Specifically, the Legion Y700 Gen 5 will officially arrive on March 18 at 19:00 local time (11:00 UTC). In other words, Lenovo's new gaming tablet will launch simultaneously alongside its next lightweight multimedia tablets, too.
The Legion Y700 Gen 5 will be one of the first tablets to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Already available in flagship smartphones like the Galaxy S26 Ultra, OnePlus 15 and RedMagic 11 Pro (curr. $799 on Amazon), the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will be paired with a 9,000 mAh battery inside the Legion Y700 Gen 5, plus a 165 Hz display and up to 16 GB of LPDDR5T RAM. Currently, Lenovo has teased that the Legion Y700 Gen 5's global counterpart will land next month across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
