Lenovo's second-generation ThinkPad X1 Fold is now available to purchase, a year after its initial showcase. In the intervening period, Lenovo has made various changes to the device, which still carries a US$2,499 starting price.

Lenovo has finally started selling the second-generation ThinkPad X1 Fold, over a year after its debut. To recap, Lenovo showcased the ThinkPad X1 Fold with Intel Alder Lake-U series processors up to the Core i7-1255U, which it paired with LPDDR5 RAM and PCIe 4.0 SSDs. Undoubtedly, the device's foldable OLED display is the star of the show, which measures 16.3-inches when unfolded and outputs at 2,560 x 2,024 pixels when unfolded.

Initially, the company had hoped to start selling the foldable OLED laptop in Q4 2022 with a €2,999 MSRP. In a press release, Lenovo has clarified that it delayed shipping to make 'several incremental improvements' in order to 'meet the strict usability and durability standards expected of a ThinkPad'. Please see the image below for Lenovo's full list of changes from the original model that we spent time with at IFA 2022.

The ThinkPad X1 Fold still starts at US$2,499. However, the device is available at three other price points up to US$3,899 with a Core i7-1260U processor, 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Please see Lenovo's website for and our launch articles for more details.
