When Lenovo announced the new Legion gaming-laptop lineup, perhaps the most exciting model was the Lenovo Legion 5. After all, the mid-range Lenovo laptop was the only one with AMD Ryzen 4000 processors. The Legion 5 is now orderable.
Starting at $969 over at Lenovo's website, the AMD laptop can be customized. The base model contains the AMD Ryzen 4600H, 8 GB of RAM, a 128 GB SSD, the 120 Hz FHD IPS screen (250 nits brightness), the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 and standard white keyboard-backlighting.
The best configuration available has the AMD Ryzen 4800H, 16 GB RAM, a 144 Hz FHD IPS panel (300 nits brightness), a 1 TB SSD, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti and 4-zone RGB-colored backlighting. Such a model costs $1,739.
No matter if the less or more expensive configuration is chosen: Both are estimated to ship in "more than 5 weeks", so some patience will still be needed.
Also orderable is the Intel version of the Legion 5, the Lenovo Legion 5i. This one also ships in "more than 5 weeks". Compared with the Legion 5, the Legion 5i is also offered as a "Premium version" with two additional GPU options: The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060. Compared with the Ryzen laptop, the Lenovo Legion 5i costs $100 more in the base configuration. The base Premium model with the 1660 Ti costs at least $250 more.
