The Lenovo AI Glasses V1 are lightweight, AI-powered AR glasses that have arrived as a rival to the Rokid Glasses. While they are lighter than Rokid's wearable, there are tradeoffs, such as a smaller battery and the lack of a camera.

The Rokid Glasses are touted as the world's lightest full-function AI & AR glasses thanks to their impressive 48-gram weight. However, while Lenovo isn't making any claims to having the lightest smart glasses, its Visual AI Glasses V1 are lighter than Rokid's.

Weighing 38 grams and sporting lenses that are 1.8mm thick, the Lenovo Visual AI Glasses V1 are AI & AR glasses like the Rokid Glasses. Lenovo has opted for a micro-LED display, which it claims is the first in the world to use resin diffraction waveguide technology (machine translated).

However, while the Rokid Glasses have dual displays with a brightness level of 1,500 nits, the Lenovo Visual AI Glasses V1 has a single display with a brightness level of 2,000 nits. It is also said to have an option for users to switch between monocular and binocular modes and an eye-tracking viewing area of 15 × 11 mm for a stable experience when on the move.

The Lenovo Visual AI Glasses V1 has several features, such as live translation with conversation mode, a teleprompter mode, and AI navigation. It is powered by Lenovo's proprietary AI. In addition, the glasses have touch controls and stereo speakers on the temples. They connect via Bluetooth 5.4 and have a 167mAh battery capacity that should provide between 8 to 10 hours of use in translation mode. A full charge takes 40 minutes.

The Lenovo Visual AI Glasses V1 are available to pre-order now for CNY 3,999 (~$562/€484) ahead of their release on November 9. At this price, the Lenovo Visual AI Glasses V1 are only slightly cheaper than the Rokid Glasses, which cost $599 but have a 12MP camera, a bigger 210mAh battery, and dual displays. There's no word yet on a global release for Lenovo's glasses.
