The Radeon RX 9070 GRE is expected to sit between the RX 9070 and RX 9060 XT, and rumors around the GPU have hinted at some of the specifications. A new leak with product and packaging images seems to confirm some of those details and also gives a first look at two of the board partner RX 9070 GRE cards, which is said to be the only way this GPU will be distributed.
Videocardz has obtained images of the alleged PowerColor Reaper Radeon RX 9070 GRE and Red Devil Radeon RX 9070 GRE. They show the same triple-fan cooling solution as the company’s Reaper and Red Devil RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT cards. The boxes for the GPUs, however, mention 12 GB VRAM, which is in line with previous leaks. They also have English and Chinese branding which suggests that they will hit the Chinese market first, and then possibly release globally. Regardless, this does indicate that the RX 9070 GRE is mostly ready for release.
The Radeon RX 9070 GRE or ‘Great Radeon Edition’ (reportedly) is said to be a Navi 58 GPU with 3,072 Steam Processors (48 CUs), and a boost clock of 2.79 GHz. It will feature 12 GB of 18 Gbps VRAM on a 192-bit bus (432 GB/s memory bandwidth). Videocardz claims that the GRE version will have dual 8-pin connectors and require a 650W or higher PSU.
As for the release date, a recent report stated that the GPU had been pushed back to Q4 2025 rather than May 8, but that might not be true, according to Videocardz. The publication states that it has not heard any such claims from its sources and that it is unclear when the GRE model will be launched, but it may not be delayed to Q4.
