HMD has announced a handful of smartphones and feature phones this year but it still has more planned for release. Thanks to a new leak, we now know some of the devices on its roadmap for this year.
According to multiple posts on X by HMD_MEME (@smashx_60), who has built a reputation for HMD-related leaks, HMD Global will be launching follow-ups to some of the smartphones it released last year. Among them is a successor to the HMD Skyline (curr. available on Amazon for $349.99) which will launch as the HMD Skyline². Although the source didn't provide any technical specifications of the phone, he disclosed that the HMD Skyline² will launch in July.
In a separate post, the leaker revealed that in addition to the HMD Skyline², HMD will also announce the HMD Skyline² GT. It is not known how this will differ from the HMD Skyline². There's also no info on when it will be announced.
Another phone the leaker revealed is coming is the HMD Fusion 2. The HMD Fusion was announced last year as an affordable Android phone with a modular design. It even got two special edition models at MWC 2025 in March. One of them is the HMD Fusion X1 which has custom software tailored to teenagers while the other is the HMD Fusion FC Barcelona special edition.
The HMD Fusion 2 will likely retain the modular design of its predecessor and probably even the overall design, so that it can be compatible with existing Fusion accessories. However, features such as a full HD display, a more powerful processor, and a better secondary camera will be welcome additions. Like the Skyline² GT, there's no news of when it will be announced.
