HMD might be done with Nokia-branded devices, but the influence of the Finnish company is still present in its devices. For example, a fair number of HMD-branded devices released in 2024 are actually just rebadged versions of the Nokia-branded ones originally made by the manufacturer. It seems that trend will continue in 2025 as the newly-released HMD 2660 Flip is based on the Nokia 2660 Flip released in 2022, save for a few design and feature changes.
Like the name says, the HMD 2660 Flip is a clamshell-style feature phone with a mirrored glass front like the HMD Barbie. It houses a 0.3MP camera, an LED flash, and a 1.77'' QQVGA display. Flip it open, and you are greeted by a 2.8'' QVGA primary screen and an alphanumeric keypad with large buttons that make it easy to use.
The HMD 2660 Flip is powered by the Unisoc T107 processor paired with 64MB of RAM and 128MB storage. There's a MicroSD card slot for adding up to an additional 32GB of storage. The 4G feature phone runs on the S30+ operating system and has a (dual) nano-SIM card slot, Bluetooth 5.0, an audio jack, dual microphones, and a single speaker. There's also FM radio and MP3 player built-in.
HMD has equipped the phone with a 1,450mAh removable battery that charges via USB-C. Available in Black, Violet, and Red, the HMD 2660 Flip is rated IP54 for dust and water resistance. It also has a dedicated SOS button on the side for calling pre-configured emergency contacts.
Compared to the Nokia 2660 Flip, the HMD 2660 Flip differs with its mirrored glass front, flatter top, camera position, USB-C port, and IP rating. It also has more RAM but HMD doesn't say if it has support for a charging cradle like the Nokia 2660 Flip does.
HMD is yet to reveal pricing and availability details but the product should be affordable enough.
